On Thursday, 28th of February 2013, the Fellows of the Leadership Development Programme 2012/13 (Group V – Serbia) organized the final event of the project “Imagine EU 2030: Can we anticipate the future of the European Union?” at the Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Belgrade. The panelists that were present in the event were: Vladimir Međak (Assistant Director, Serbian European Integration Office), Vladimir Todorić, (Executive Director, New Policy Center), Jovan Teokarević (Professor, University of Belgrade, Faculty of Political Sciences) and Jelena Babić (Project Coordinator, Centre for European Integration, Belgrade Open School). During the event, all the speakers presented their views on how EU might develop in the following years and what we might aspect from EU in 2030. Moreover, the LDP Group presented the publication with 15 essays, the result of the project “Imagine EU 2030”, and rewarded the winner of the essay competition, Mr. Stefan Dragojević (Student, University of Belgrade, Faculty of Law), who also read his essay. After the presentations of the panelist there was an active session of question and answers where the participants could express their opinions on the debate. The purpose of the project “Imagine EU 2030” was to encourage BA and MA students from students of social science and humanities coming from universities in Croatia, Greece, Romania, Serbia to express their vision in a critical manner of EU in 2030 and issues they find relevant to the future they will belong as part from different countries and with different stages of EU integration. Young individuals who were involved in implementation of the project and organization of the debate were: Bianca Cone from Romania, Nina Sertić from Croatia, Efehan Danisman from Turkey, Kyriakos Chrysidis from Greece, Vanja Dumeljić and Dejan Bursać from Serbia. The “Imagine EU 2030” project was implemented in the framework of “The Southeast Europe and the EU –Leadership Development Programme” generation 2012/2013.
