Two EFB Alumni (Irma Zulic and Jovana Rakic) are part of a team which launched the project called Plan Balkans: Europolitan, as a part of their activities within FutureLab Europe Programme. According to them, the role of the youth as actor in the process of EU integration in the Western Balkans is underestimated. The main issue to be addressed is the vain interest and poor knowledge of the young people about the EU project, especially about their own rights and possibilities as European Union citizens. With their group project they want to raise the awareness among the young people of the Western Balkans about the importance of their active engagement in building the society and to foster the youth participation in creating the mainstream ideas and public opinions about their country's' European future. This project which tackles the issue of Active citizenship and the quest for democratic legitimacy in the Western Balkans is consists out of three phases: Call for Essays and Photos, Online survey and a Round table/debate in Sarajevo, in July 2013. The survey aims to evaluate and present what young people from the Western Balkans think about Europe and to what extent they feel a part of it. Your contribution is more than valuable for the success of this activity in order for the team to become active in shaping young people’s future in Europe. It should take no longer than 10 minutes of your time. The link for the survey. More information on the project can be found on the following link: www.futurelabeurope.eu www.facebook.com
